Information Security

Information security is now more vital to the survival and success of businesses than it’s ever been before.  There are various factors contributing to this new urgency:

  • Cyber security is the biggest threat to the survival and success of modern businesses. Companies of all sizes are at risk of falling victim to disruptive attacks such as phishing, Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) or ransomware – the costs of which run into the millions.

  • Government regulations such as the GDPR are increasingly looking to punish businesses with potentially crippling fines for failing to secure their systems and data appropriately.

  • The expansion and digitisation of the modern workplace compounds cyber challenges further: as workflows spread across devices, networks and geographies, information must be protected as it moves around a business.

  • The capabilities of office printers and multifunction devices have increased ten-fold in recent years. They are now responsible for a huge proportion of business data input, output, transfer and storage. This potentially makes them one of the most dangerous, yet often overlooked, threat vectors in the workplace today.

Faced with these challenges, modern businesses can no longer function without fundamentally secure document and data management systems. Now more than ever, businesses need a partner they can trust to help them secure and protect their information management.

Maintain security across multiple devices and locations

With security at our core, Ricoh can offer your business opportunities for more flexible working. Our solutions allow our customers to securely distribute, share, track and manage confidential documents and data.

We have expertise in providing services for sensitive industries like financial services, government and healthcare, and can help you implement solutions in line with your particular company security policy.

Protect your valuable business information

We place security at the heart of all our technology, consultancy and support services and offer a range of solutions - from secure printing for sensitive documents through to safe storage and data management.

We were the first to receive ISO/IEC 15408 certification for a digital multifunctional product. Now our latest devices have obtained Common Criteria certification conforming to IEEE 2600, an international standard for IT security products.

We’ve also developed dedicated solutions for compliance challenges. Our Data Cleansing Service, for example, ensures that no personally identifiable or business critical information is retained on the memory of multi-function printers once retired from operation.

Managing risk and reputation

Our solutions have been developed in line with industry best practice and our close understanding of the challenges that organisations within specific sectors face. We have developed a portfolio to help organisations manage and protect the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of information. Our consultants also work with customers to identify solutions, services and define policies which balance security and management with the need for flexibility and efficiency. By creating a secure infrastructure that evolves as technology advances, your business is armed with a reassuring combination of confidence and confidentiality

We carry a global ISO 27001 certificate for information security management, and we keep a close eye on the security landscape so that we evolve our services as this changes

New General Data Protection Regulation (2016/679)

On the 25th May 2018, the new EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into effect giving many companies, large and small, cause for preparing for its impact. The level of risk associated with the GDPR has catapulted the topic of data protection into the boardroom with the shape of the EU’s framework now clear.

Many organisations are now considering what new obligations they face under the new GDPR, what gaps exist between their existing and required state of compliance and what changes they must make in order to achieve compliance, within what timeframe and at what cost.

At Ricoh we are no different. With a longstanding global commitment to ensuring that data privacy and protection is embedded consistently into our business processes and solutions by design, we are here to help you protect your data, however it is used within your business.
